Learning Outcomes: After completing this activity, the participant will be able to: Define asthma and other respiratory illnesses in terms of causes, triggers, and symptoms. Identify how to intervene during an asthma episode and the parts of an asthma action plan. Identify the proper technique for assessing lungs.Discuss the medications used in asthma. Identify the purpose and proper use of peak flow meters, spacers, pulse oximetry, and nebulizers.

Licensed Nurses: Upstate AHEC is an accredited provider of Nursing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Centers Commission on Accreditation. Upon successful completion of this program, participants will receive 0.75 contact hour.
Other: This educational offering provides 0.075 CEU ( 0.75 clock hour) by Upstate AHEC and meets SC AHEC Best Practice Standards.

Credit Requirements: To receive CE credit for completing this online course you must complete 100% of the material, receive at least 80% passing grade on post-tests, 100% on the Drug Dosage Calculation test, nurses must also score 100%on the IV Drug Dosage Calculations test, and everyone must complete the evaluation. Once you pass the post-tests and complete the evaluation you will be able to print a certificate for verification of credit.
